SALT LAKE CITY – Rio Tinto Stadium will be filled with fans from across the world as Chivas de Guadalajara and Santos Laguna battle one another in a friendly fixture this evening.
The occasion marks the second consecutive year in which Rio Tinto Stadium, home to MLS side Real Salt Lake, hosts two of Liga MXs largest clubs. Last year, Club América beat Santos Laguna in front of a packed crowd on July 4.
Santos Laguna will look to take its revenge out on Chivas as they attempt to pick up their first victory at Rio Tinto Stadium this evening.

Chivas, the only team in Liga MX that only signs Mexican players, is coming off a positive Liga MX Clausura campaign that saw their season end in the quarterfinals with a loss to eventual runner-ups Atlas.
Santos Laguna, on the other hand, concluded their Clausura campaign by finishing in 14th. However, the 2018 Clausura Champions are bringing a full-strength roster in their attempt to upset Chivas.
Fans are invited to arrive at the stadium at 3 p.m. to enjoy a fanfest that will include live music, food, club mascots, a championship trophy and a special appearance by Chivas de Guadalajara club legend Adolfo “Bofo” Bautista.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
