SALT LAKE CITY – The countdown for Hans & Scotty’s 60 in 60 is on. Coming in at #54 is BYU’s Houston Heimuli (FB).
Throughout the summer Hans & Scotty are counting down the top 60 college football players in the state of Utah as voted on by the media (and a fan ballot).
“Houston Heimuli, transfer from Stanford, team captain at Stanford and he’s doing a great job at being a leader here at BYU,” BYU head coach Kalani Sitake said of his fullback. “Big body, can block down field, can run routes and catch the ball as well. Big time playmaking ability. Always love the fullbacks.”
#54 in our 60 in 60 is Stanford transfer Houston Heimuli! He does the job he’s asked to do. Stanford didn’t max out his ability IMO. You’ll see plenty of this from the beefy FB. pic.twitter.com/AuMe9uHgih

BYU’s Houston Heimuli
Heimuli is a senior from Bountiful, Utah.
He spent four years at Stanford from 2017-21. Heimuli appeared in 42 games for the Cardinal and was a team captain in 2021. As a freshman in 2017, Heimuli used his redshirt before appearing in 24 games in 2018 and 2019 as a fullback, including three starts during the 2019 campaign. Heimuli earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention after the 2020 season.
Last season, Heimuli played in 11 games, while receiving the Outstanding Senior Award. He ended his Stanford career with seven receptions for 25 yards and one touchdown.

His father Lakei is a fullback legend at BYU as a member of the 1984 National Championship team and was a member of the Cougars from 1983-87. Lakei went on to play in the NFL for the Chicago Bears in 1987.
Among his four siblings (Hema, Helam, Hevynn and Harrison), Helam played football at Weber State. Houston’s uncle Hema played for BYU.
Heimuli is the first BYU player to appear in the 60 in 60 list in 2022.
