Utah Jazz Assistant Coach Erdem Can Reportedly Signs Deal With Turk Telekom

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Jazz assistant coach Erdem Can has reportedly signed a two-year deal to join Eurocup team Turk Telekom with an NBA clause in his contract.
Erdem Can spent one season with the Jazz, which was his first as an assistant in the NBA. He began his coaching career in 2008 with Turk Telekom until 2010 when he became the head coach of Olin Edirne in Turkey from 2010-12.
Can then moved back to an assistant coaching role with Fenerbahce in Istanbul, Turkey from 2012-21 before joining Quin Snyder’s staff with the Utah Jazz.
According to Turkish reporter Ugur Ozan Sulak, Can has an NBA clause in his contract, just in case he lands with a different team or follows Snyder to his next stop.

Turk Telecom is based in Ankara, Turkey and are playing in the Turkish Basketball Super League. They have won one Turkish Cup and two Turkish President’s Cups. The club has a tie to the Utah Jazz. Back in 2011 during the NBA Lockout, former Jazzman Mehmet Okur played for them while the lockout was being worked out. Okur is the first Turkish NBA All-Star.
During Can’s coaching career, he was a part of one Euroleague championship with Fenerbahce in 2016-17. Also, four Turkish League championships, in 2013-14, 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18, three Turkish Cups in 2016, 2019 and 2020, along with three Turkish Super Cups in 2013, 2016 and 2017.
