SALT LAKE CITY – Real Salt Lake has announced that the club will sponsor and participate in the annual Utah Pride Festival this Sunday, June 5.
“This is part of Real Salt Lake’s overall effort to provide support for Utah’s LGBTQ+ community, which included Pride Night at Real Salt Lake and Real Monarchs home matches, and fundraising efforts for suicide prevention,” the club said in a statement.
“It is a privilege of the Club to not just belong to the community but to strengthen the fabric of the community,” said Real Salt Lake Vice President of Marketing and Game Production Tyler Gibbons. “It’s an honor for us to be a part of the Pride Parade, to acknowledge & celebrate the LGBTQ+ community in Utah & to continue to champion our club’s belief that ‘All Are Welcome’ at Real Salt Lake.”
The club will participate in the Utah Pride Parade which is scheduled to take place on Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
“The Utah Pride Festival uproariously celebrates love. It is about strengthening our communities, families, and humanity,” said Utah Pride Center Co-CEO Jessica Dummar (She/Them). “As we embrace authentic connection and love, we decrease rates of suicide and feelings of loneliness. We develop a society that breaks cycles of generational trauma and acts on creating a better world through radical self-love and community collaboration and support. We Are Utah Pride.”
