Local Teams Celebrate Pride Month 2022 On Social Media
SALT LAKE CITY – Professional sports organizations from the state of Utah celebrated the first day of Pride Month 2022 on social media.
Pride Month is celebrated annually during the month of June.
Salt Lake City celebrated the opening day of celebration by raising a Pride flag outside of City Hall in downtown.
From June 1-30, Pride Month celebrates the LGBTQ+ community, equality, and love. It is a time to remember The Stonewall Rebellion, a turning point for LGBTQ+ rights in the 1960s.
On June 1, multiple sports team in the Beehive State posted on social media or updated their accounts to celebrate Pride Month.
“Happy #Pride2022,” the Utah Jazz tweeted. “May we continue the fight for love, equality and freedom for all.”
Vivint Arena, home of the Jazz, shared the post and added, “#HappyPrideMonth.”
The Utah Jazz Team Store also showcased a #TakePride shirt with a special Jazz J-Note logo.
Real Salt Lake
Real Salt Lake updated its social media accounts with a special Pride edition of the club’s logo for the month of June.
On June 11, 2019, Real Salt Lake debuted a Pride Month kit at Rio Tinto Stadium. The corner flags were decorated with the colors of the rainbow flag, every color has its own meaning. Hot pink for sex, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, turquoise for magic/art, indigo for serenity, and violet for spirit.
The Real Monarchs updated the team’s social media accounts with a special Pride edition of the club’s logo for the month.
