Jefferson Savarino Arrives In Utah, Immediate Playing Availability Subject To Physical Tests

SALT LAKE CITY – Real Salt Lake winger Jefferson Savarino has landed in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is expected to be available for this weekend’s fixture against Houston Dynamo.
Savarino, 25, signed with Real Salt Lake on May 4th and has been since waiting for his immigration status to be approved so that he could enter the United States. Now the Venezualan international will undergo medical and physical tests at the club. Assuming Savarino passes all tests he will likely be available this weekend.

Fortunately, Savarino last played for Clube Atlético Mineiro on April 23rd where he scored two first-half goals before being substituted in the 63rd minute. Since then, he has been working individually on his fitness and is presumed to have maintained a healthy fitness level.
Savarino returns to Real Salt Lake as a Designated Player and will immediately add to the attacking third. Savarino last played for Real Salt Lake from 2017 to 2019 where he appeared in 82 games, starting 78 of them, scoring 21 goals, and notching 21 assists.
Savarino is a creative player and has proven to be a tenacious dribbler of the football. His ability to beat players and create goal-scoring opportunities is world-class. He will immediately assist in helping Real Salt Lake score more goals from the run of play, something they have struggled to do in 2022.
