Kyle Van Noy Reveals Chargers Jersey Number With Cool Video

SALT LAKE CITY – Former BYU and current Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Kyle Van Noy unveiled his new jersey number with a unique video.
Van Noy signed with the Chargers on May 5.
On Tuesday, May 17, Van Noy revealed his jersey number for the 2022 season.
“5 + 3….” Van Noy captioned a captioned a video posted to social media along with three sets of eyeball emojis.

During his college career at BYU, Van Noy rocked No. 3 on his jersey.
As a rookie in the NFL, the former Detroit Lions linebacker wore No. 95.
After his first season in the league, Van Noy switched to No. 53. He continued to wear No. 53 through the 2021 season despite changing to the NFL’s jersey number policy that would have allowed Van Noy to switched to another number such as his No. 3 college jersey.
“So for those that keep asking…. it would be dope to wear 3 like college cuz the number 3 means a lot to me… but I’m rocking that 5 3 baby! Too many folks already paid for my jersey so we keepin it…” Van Noy tweeted in 2021.

Van Noy revealed that he would wear No. 8 for the Chargers in 2022.

About Kyle Van Noy
Prior to his time in the league, Van Noy played at BYU from 2o10-13.
After a standout career at BYU, Van Noy was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Following two and a half seasons with Detroit, the linebacker was traded to New England.
Van Noy played the next three and a half seasons with the Patriots and helped New England win a pair of Super Bowls.
After the 2019 season, the linebacker signed with the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins released Van Noy after one season in South Beach and he returned to New England on a two-year deal.

The 2021 season was the lone year of Van Noy’s second stint with the Patriots.
In 111 career games, the two-time Super Bowl champ has recorded 424 total tackles, 288 solo tackles, 28.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries, three interceptions, and one touchdown.
