Jazz CEO Danny Ainge Attends Game 7 Between Bucks, Celtics

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Jazz CEO Danny Ainge attended Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinal round between the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics.
The Celtics hosted the Bucks at TD Garden for Game 7 of the East Semifinals on Sunday, May 15.
Ainge, a former Celtics player and executive, was in attendance to watch his previous team.
Prior to his time in the NBA, the Eugene, Oregon native played college basketball at BYU.
Boston selected Ainge with the No. 31 overall pick in the 1981 NBA Draft. Ainge played for the Celtics from 1981-89 and won a pair of NBA titles during his time in Boston.

After his time with the Celtics, Ainge played for the Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, and Phoenix Suns before retiring from playing in 1995.
He coached the Suns from 1996-99.
Ainge was hired by Boston as Executive Director of Basketball Operations in 2003.

In June 2021, Ainge retired from his position with the Celtics and Brad Stevens was promoted from head coach to Boston’s replacement for Ainge.

Jazz owner Ryan Smith hired the former BYU star as Utah’s CEO in December 2021.
The Jazz were eliminated in six games by the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the postseason.
Game 7 between Milwaukee and Boston is televised on ABC.
