SALT LAKE CITY – Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts lived up to his gold glove reputation with this throw that nailed Pirates baserunner Ben Gamel.
The Pirates hosted the Dodgers at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA on Tuesday, May 10.

Betts is a 5-time Gold Glove winner but showed of his explosive arm with this throw. After settling behind the lazy fly ball, Betts made the catch and fired a howitzer of a throw to home plate. Waiting at the dish was Dodger catcher Austin Barnes who fielded the ball and lunged toward Gamel, tagging him out in one motion.
Gamel bent to his knees following the play with a gaze toward Betts in right, seemingly stunned that the throw beat him.
Betts has not committed an error in 26 games played during the 2022 season.
