Utah Lacrosse Advances To ASUN Championship With Thrilling Finish

HUNTSVILLE- The Utes made it interesting in their first ever postseason game in program history. Utah lacrosse came from behind to defeat Bellarmine in overtime in order to advance to the ASUN Conference Championship Game. With the win, the Utes improved their record 10-3- the best record they’ve had since becoming a program in 2019.

Leaders Of The Pack
The Utes experienced multiple lead changes and seven ties with the Knights in what was a very rollercoaster-like match. It would be Utah’s fifth overtime game and second overtime win of their short existence.
Leading the charge was Jordan Hyde who had an incredible game from start to finish. With just a minute left in overtime, Josh Stout found Hyde open for a shot in the corner. Hyde fired to the back of the net, giving the Utes the golden goal and win, 12-11. Hyde led the team in goals with six.
MJ McMahon and Tyler Bradbury were good for two goals along with an assist each. Cody Hart and Carson Moyer added a goal each. Moyer was also good for a ground ball and an assist.
Cole Brams was aggressive on face-offs winning 18 of 26 for a 69-percent win average. He also recorded a team high 12 ground balls. Samuel Cambere notched five turnovers- a career tying effort. Cambere now has the school record for turnovers at 27.

The Utes will play the winner of the Robert Morris versus Air Force game later Thursday. The ASUN Championship Game will be held on Saturday, May 7th at 12 p.m. MT. The game can be viewed on ESPN+.
