Instant Replay: Tennessee Pitcher Hits 105 MPH In Game

SALT LAKE CITY – Tennessee Volunteers relief pitcher Ben Joyce turned heads when one of his pitches clocked in at an unbelievable 104 MPH on the stadium gun.
On Sunday, May 1, Joyce got the crowd excited when one of his fastballs registered at 104 miles per hour. As it turns out, the stadium gun may have shortchanged Joyce as the Tennessee baseball twitter account is now reporting the pitch clocked in at 105.5 MPH.
The heater goes down in the record books as the fastest pitch thrown in college baseball history.
For everyone asking, this was the Ben Joyce pitch that was clocked at 105.5 mph on our @Yakkertech system. As you'll hear in the clip, the stadium gun registered it at 104 mph. Unreal stuff.#GBO // #Gas pic.twitter.com/wQfgp1H6HA

In his jaw-dropping appearance, Joyce threw 28 pitches over 103 MPH, 15 pitches above 104 MPH and an astonishing three pitches topped 105.
Triple-digit fastballs have become the rage in professional baseball in recent seasons, especially out of the bullpen where pitchers can expend all of their energy with relatively few pitches.
Hunter Greene was throwing ⛽️ all night.

In 2010, Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman touched 105.8 MPH against the San Diego Padres. Joyce’s pitch offically checks in as the second fastest pitch ever recorded. Current Reds starting pitcher Hunter Greene set the record for the most 100+ MPH pitches in a single outing when he hit 100 or more 39 times in just 80 pitches thrown on April 16, 2022 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
