Joe Ingles Thinks Jazz Should Play More Freely In Game 6
With Ingles on the outside of the Jazz organization now, he has some advice he would give his former teammates as they trail the series 3-2 and facing elmination on Thursday night.
“You see the frustration or whether that be how they’re playing individually or as a group,” said Ingles. “I think they’ve got a helluva chance to still win the series, starting tonight, but I think the one good thing if you’re looking at anything, in a situation like this is they’ve literally got nothing to lose at this point. I’ve been in this situation with the Jazz, you get to play a bit more free. The loss means your season is over but you can play a bit more free. The pressure is on Dallas. They’re expected to win this series.”
Ingles is currently not on a team that is in the postseason as the Trail Blazers are beginning a rebuild but still has relationships on the Jazz. He was asked if he has watched his former team in the 2022 NBA Playoffs.
“I didn’t watch any games early on and that wasn’t Jazz or Portland or anything,” Ingles said. “With what I’d went through with my injury and I wanted to kind of get away for a little bit. I’d obviously check scores and all that because I still have friends on teams. Normally I would check every score in the morning or at night before I went to bed. I have probably watched three of the five games and maybe a bit of four.”
