SALT LAKE CITY – Donovan Mitchell exited the court in the fourth quarter and was unable to finish Game 5 between the Utah Jazz and Dallas Mavericks.

The Mavericks hosted the Jazz at American Airlines Center on Monday, April 25.

With 4:41 left in the game, Mitchell limped to the sideline and grabbed at his left leg as he headed towards the locker room.

Mitchell did not return in the final minutes of action.

At the time of Mitchell’s exit, the Jazz trailed the Mavericks, 93-65.

Dallas went on to defeat Utah, 102-77.

Following the game, the Jazz released the following update on Mitchell’s status:

“Donovan Mitchell (left hamstring) will be evaluated tomorrow in Salt Lake City.”

During his postgame remarks, Mitchell addressed the injury.

“I wanted to try to finish, but it just tightened up on me,” the guard said. “I’ll be fine.”

Mitchell, who struggled all game long, finished the contest with nine points on 4-15 shooting, including 0-7 from beyond the arc. The Louisville product added two rebounds, one assist, a steal, and four turnovers in 32 minutes on the hardwood.

With the result, Dallas took a 3-2 series lead and push the Jazz to the brink of elimination.

Game 6 between the Jazz and Mavericks will take place at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City on Thursday, April 28 at 8 p.m. (MDT). The game will be broadcast on TNT or NBA, as well as AT&T SportsNet, The Zone Sports Network, and KSL NewsRadio.
