SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz were destroyed by the Dallas Mavericks 102-77 in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series.

The Jazz shot a miserable 29-77 from the floor including 3-30 from the three-point line in the loss.

Luka Doncic dazzled with 33 points while Jordan Clarkson led the Jazz with 20 points.

First Quarter

The Jazz got off to a brutal start offensively in the first quarter shooting just 6-20 from the floor and 0-7 from the three-point line.

However, they were able to keep the Mavericks from running away with the game with solid defense, five Dallas turnovers, and 10 trips to the free-throw line.

Mitchell led the Jazz with seven points while Dwight Powell scored eight for Dallas.

After one, the Jazz trailed the Mavericks 24-18.

Second Quarter

The Jazz offense didn’t improve in the second quarter despite seeing two three-pointers fall.

Jordan Clarkson shot 5-6 from the floor to score 10 of the Jazz’s 18 second quarter points, but the rest of the team shot just 3-12 for eight points.

Dallas shot just 2-12 from the three-point line but outscored the Jazz 28-18 in the frame.

At the half the Jazz trailed the Mavericks 52-36.

Third Quarter

The Jazz had their best offensive quarter of the game in the third, and still managed only 19 points.

Mitchell’s struggles came to a head after picking up his fourth foul as the Jazz All-Star subbed out of the game with nine points on 4-14 shooting, four turnovers, and a -30 plus-minus.

Doncic took over in the quarter scoring 19 points on 6-9 shooting to match the Jazz offensive total.

After three the Jazz trailed the Mavericks 81-55.

Fourth Quarter

The Jazz were able to string together a 9-0 to cut the Mavericks lead back to 21, but Dallas never let it get any closer when it mattered.

Hassan Whiteside and Reggie Bullock were ejected after a tussle broke out when Whiteside broke up a Doncic dunk attempt.

Mitchell left the game with 4:41 left to play and holding his left leg, limping towards the locker room after a nine point, 4-15, four turnover performance. The Jazz were outscored by 38 with him on the floor.

The Jazz dropped Game 5 102-77.
