SALT LAKE CITY – The Dallas Mavericks will reportedly be without star guard Luka Doncic for the third straight game against the Utah Jazz on Thursday night.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc Stein of Bally Sports have reported that Luka Doncic will be out for Game 3 against the Jazz on Thursday, while Stein is reporting that the Mavericks plan to bring their star back for Game 4 on Saturday afternoon.
The Mavericks plan to bring Luka Doncic back from injury for Saturday's Game 4 in Utah after ruling him out for tonight's Game 3, league sources say.

During shootaround on Thursday, Dallas was going to see how Doncic looked in workouts and decide whether to clear him to play. Wojnarowski reported that “there was significant pessimism on Luka Doncic’s availability for Game 3.”
The Jazz picked up the win in Game 1 last Saturday with a great defensive performance. Dallas bounced back in Game 2 with big performances from Jalen Brunson with 41 points and Maxi Kleber’s eight three-pointers.
The Mavericks haven’t won a game at Vivint Arena since April of 2016, two years before Doncic was drafted.
During the Jazz shootaround on Thursday, Donovan Mitchell indicated he knew what it would take for his team to overcome their Game 2 issues.
“I’m confident in my abilities on defense,” Mitchell said, “and so are my teammates. But I’m not too worried about it, just go out there and guard and do what I’ve got to do.”
The Jazz and Mavericks will tip-off at 7 pm MT and can be heard on KSL NewsRadio and The Zone Sports Network. The game will be televised on NBATV, AT&T SportsNet, and FuboTV.
