He is the No. 97 recruit in the nation, the 16th ranked center and the No. 4 prospect in the state of Utah. This is a nice pickup for Craig Smith and the Utah basketball program. Keita will be able to develop into a quality player, while working with Chris Burgess and All-Pac-12 big man Branden Carlson.
The Utes are thin in the frontcourt with Riley Battin and Lahat Thioune entering the transfer portal after the season ended. Also, Dusan Mahorcic was dismissed from the team in February.
The shot blocking big man received offers from Utah, UNLV, Utah Tech (Dixie State) and Washington. Clemson, Nevada, Texas A&M and UC Santa Barbara showed interest but did not extend an offer.
