SALT LAKE CITY – The Salt Lake Bees announced that the club’s home opener against the Las Vegas Aviators has been postponed due to weather.

Salt Lake was scheduled to host Las Vegas at Smith’s Ballpark on Tuesday, April 12.

Hours before the game was slate to have its first pitch, the Bees announced that the contest was postponed due to an overnight snow storm.

The game has been rescheduled as a double-header on Wednesday, April 13 starting at 4:05 p.m. (MDT).

Earlier in the day, the Bees hoped that the snow would melt and the conditions would be suitable to play against the Aviators.

Salt Lake opened its 2022 schedule on the road with a six-game series against the Tacoma Rainiers. The Bees left Washington with a 4-2 record to start the year.

The Bees’ opening homestand is a six-game series vs. the Aviators.

Salt Lake is celebrating its first games of the year at Smith’s Ballpark with a series of special game night events, including Dollar Dog Night, Thirsty Thursday, Bees Beanie Giveaway, Post Game Kid’s Run, and Easter Sunday.

Salt Lake’s next game against Las Vegas is slated to start on Wednesday, April 13 at 6:35 p.m. (MDT). The game can be heard on The Zone Sports Network.
