Mavericks Star Luka Dončić Suffers Injury During Regular Season Finale

SALT LAKE CITY – Mavericks star forward Luka Dončić suffered a leg injury during Dallas’ regular season finale against the San Antonio Spurs.
The Mavericks hosted the Spurs on Sunday, April 10.
With 2:24 left in the third quarter, Dončić exited the game after suffering a left calf strain.

The Mavericks announced that the star forward would not return against the Spurs.

Before the injury, Dončić had possession of the ball and went to dish it off to a teammate.
After passing the ball, Dončić limped and grabbed his leg.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, “there’s initial optimism that Dallas star Luka Doncic hasn’t suffered a significant injury, source tells ESPN. Team is calling it a strained left calf.”

Before leaving the game, Dončić had 26 points on 8-18 field goals. He added eight rebounds, nine assists, two steals, and a block in 29 minutes of action.
Dallas held on to beat San Antonio, 130-120.
With the win, the Mavericks locked up the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference with a 52-30 record.
The Mavericks will host the No. 5 seed Utah Jazz in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. Game 1 of the series will start on Saturday, April 16 at 11 a.m. (MDT).
