One of the highlights of this yearly game, other than giving Utah fans a taste of NHL hockey, is that no matter the score at the end of the game, there is always a shoot-out, showing fans one of the best moments in all of sports.
Frozen Fury History
The upcoming game will be the fourth time the LA Kings have played a preseason game in Salt Lake City and the second time they’ve played the Golden Knights.
Last year, the Kings downed the Knights by a score of 3-1, but the fans are the real story of these NHL games. The crowd has recently been about equally split between Kings and Knights fans, but you’ll also find gear from plenty of other NHL teams, like the Avalanche and Blackhawks, showing that Utah has a strong hockey fanbase.

Kings president, Luc Robitaille, has a home in Utah, so bringing great hockey to the State is a priority for him. Hopefully, this means we will see more in the future.
When asked about bringing the AHL to Utah on The Utah Puck Report podcast, Robitaille answered, “You said you’re pushing hard? You should see how hard I’m pushing. I would love to have a team here in Utah.”
