SALT LAKE CITY – Mavericks star Luka Dončić checked on fellow NBA All-Star Donovan Mitchell after the Jazz guard suffered an injury during Utah’s game against Dallas.
The Mavericks hosted the Jazz at American Airlines Center on Sunday, March 27.
With 5:56 remaining in the third quarter, Mitchell went into the paint for a field goal attempt.
11 seconds later, the game was halted after the Jazzman was down on the court in pain after Dallas’ Dwight Powell stepped onto Mitchell’s foot following the guard’s shot attempt.

As Mitchell slowly made his way onto his feet and off the court, Dončić went over to the fifth-year Jazzman to check on his status.

Mitchell went to the bench with pain and frustration on his face.
Last year on April 16, 2021, Mitchell suffered a significant ankle injury that held him out until the second game of the playoffs.
With 4:24 left in the quarter, Mitchell checked back into the game against the Mavericks.
At the end of the third quarter, the Jazz trailed the Mavericks, 90-79.
During the first 36 minutes of game time, Mitchell had 10 points on 4-13 field goals. He added three rebounds, four assists, and a steal during his first 29 minutes of action.
Dwight Powell just came down on Donovan Mitchell's ankle and he was down for a while before he limped off the floor.
