Donovan Mitchell Hits Three From Parking Lot Against Hornets

SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell closed the first half on a high note as he nailed a 45+ foot shot just before the halftime buzzer.
Charlotte hosted the Jazz at the Spectrum Center on Friday, March 25.
The Mitchell prayer came after Mike Conley had his dribble poked away as the Jazz were playing for the final shot of the half. Mitchell tracked the loose ball down just inside half court and with the clock near zero, hoisted the prayer that found nothing but nylon.

The shot brought the Jazz within three at the half, 54-51.
Defensively, Utah has struggled as Charlotte is shooting 50 percent from the field and 52.9 percent from three.
The two teams combined for 19 first half threes made with the Jazz hitting nine.
Donovan Mitchell’s 16 points lead the Jazz in the first half. Jordan Clarkson is the only other Jazz man in double figures with 10 off the bench.
Mitchell leads the Jazz in scoring at a 26.2 point per game clip. He is also averaging 5.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Mitchell also passed current Charlotte Hornet Gordon Hayward for 8th on the Jazz All-Time scoring list in the game.

The Jazz beat the Hornets 112-102 in mid-December but will be playing with a diminished roster in Charlotte as Bojan Bogdanovic and Danuel House Jr. remain out for tonight’s game. This is the sixth straight absence for Bogdanovic, and the fifth straight game missed due to injury by House Jr.
The Jazz are 1-2 on the current six-game road trip, the longest of the 2021-22 season for the Jazz and still have stops in Dallas, and Los Angeles to face the Clippers before returning home.
The Hornets saw a five game winning streak come to a close after falling to the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
The Jazz and Hornets can be heard on The Zone Sports Network. The game is also televised on AT&T SportsNet and FuboTV.
