UHSAA Adds Boys Volleyball As Sanctioned Sport Starting In 2023

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah High School Activities Association voted to add boys volleyball as a sanctioned sport beginning in the 2023-24 school year.
UHSAA announced the vote on Thursday, March 24.
The organization announced the news with the following statement:
“The Utah High School Activities Association will be adding a new sanctioned sport to its offerings in the 2023-24 school year.
The UHSAA Board-of-Trustees voted Thursday to add the sport of Boys’ Volleyball to the Association’s list of sanctioned activities, with state tournament competition beginning in the Spring season of the 2023-24 academic year. The sport was added according to the Association’s ‘Emerging Sports Policy’.

Boys volleyball will become the fifth sport that UHSAA has sanctioned since the 2016-17 school year.
In recent years, the organization has sanctioned boys and girls lacrosse, girls wrestling, and competitive cheerleading.
