Five Red Rocks Named WCGA Regular Season All-Americans

SALT LAKE CITY – The Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association announced five members of the Utah Gymnastics team as regular season All-Americans.
The five Red Rocks were recognized on Thursday, March 24.
The WCGA honored Utah’s Grace McCallum, Maile O’Keefe, Cristal Isa, Abby Paulson, and Sydney Soloski as All-America gymnasts.

It’s the third straight season in which the Utes have had five gymnasts earn All-America honors.
McCallum was awarded two first team honors and one second team recognition. Her first team honors were for all-around and on bars. McCallum earned second team honors for floor.
O’Keefe, Isa, and Paulson were recognized for balance beam.
Soloski earned a third straight regular season All-America honor for floor.

Red Rocks’ upcoming postseason
After winning their second consecutive Pac-12 Championship, the Red Rocks are back in Regionals and will head to the Pacific Northwest. Utah hosted a Regional last year at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah.
The Red Rocks will be the No. 4 ranked team and the top seed in the Regionals and will compete against Oregon State, Illinois and the winner of Stanford and San Jose State. In the other semifinal in the Regional is Alabama, Michigan State, BYU and Washington. The top two team scores from each of the Regional Semifinals will advance to Regional Final. The top two scores from the Regional Final will go to Nationals.
Utah faced Arizona State, Boise State and Southern Utah in the semifinals of the SLC Regional and put up a score of 197.500. They advanced to the Regional Final with Arizona State to battle Kentucky and LSU.
After posting a score of 197.925, Utah won the Regional and advanced to Nationals, along with LSU. In Fort Worth, Texas, the Red Rocks competed for a national championship with Florida, Michigan and Oklahoma. Utah ended the season with a third place finish at 197.9875. Michigan won the National Championship with a score of 198.2500. Oklahoma finished second with a 198.1625.
This season, Utah went 10-3 overall and 5-2 in Pac-12 play. They scored a 198.00 or better in three meets, including the Pac-12 Championship.
The Regional will take place on March 30-31.
