Utah Football Releases Roster Ahead Of Spring Practices

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah football program will begin spring practices on Tuesday and their roster is full of talent that will look to make an immediate impact in 2022.
The players listed on the spring football roster for Utah will look to sharpen their skills and the newcomers an opportunity to get a head start on learning the system, schemes, program, etc.
The Utes released their roster for the spring and we have looked at some of the notable names that have enrolled early, along with number and position changes.

Utah Newcomers Participating In Spring Football
The Utes have six players from their 2022 signing class that have enrolled early and will participate in spring ball. Their numbers have also been chosen and assigned.
- Lander Barton, #20
- Jaylon Glover, #1
- Tyler Knaak, #75
- Justin Medlock, #6
- Ryan Peppins, #5
- Brandon Rose – #8
- Carson Tabaracci – #0
Florida transfer linebacker Mohamoud Diabate will wear No. 9 but won’t be participating in spring football.
Utah also has some players that are on the roster as walk-ons during the spring to see if they can crack the fall roster. Those players include former Brighton High School snapper Logan Castor, his high school teammate Collin Edwards, a wide receiver. Also, Ridge Harrell is a defensive end from Skyridge High School. He was on Southern Utah’s roster last season but didn’t see any action.
Johnathan Johnson is a running back that is joining his high school teammate Nate Johnson, although Johnson is not participating in spring ball. Former Springville DT Tanu Maiava-Ahhing is also with the team.

After the 2021 season concluded and spring practices starting, some notable names have changed their numbers.

- Nick Howe, CB – 29 to 30
- Deven Johnson, TE – 82 to 48
- Munir McClain, WR – 13 to 4
- Shuhei Mitsumoto, moved from DE to WR – 57 to 40
- Pierre Moudourou, WR – 27 to 28
- Simote Pepa, DT – 75 to 77
- Clark Phillips III, CB – 8 to 1
- Karene Reid, LB – 32 to 21
- Kyrese Rowan, WR – 26 to 0
- Charlie Vincent, RB – 24 to 26
