SALT LAKE CITY – Anderson Julio is no closer to returning to Real Salt Lake on a permanent basis, according to a report recently published by César Luis Merlo of TyC Sports in Mexico.
🚨El arribo de Anderson Julio a Real Salt Lake City está frenado debido a una diferencia económica con Atlético San Luis, que persiste hace varias semanas.

Last season Julio was a member of Real Salt Lake on loan from Liga MX Atlético San Luis. The deal had an option for Real Salt Lake to permanently buy Julio following the conclusion of the 2021 season. That option is still being internally discussed within the club, however, following the most recent report, it looks increasingly likely that Real Salt Lake will not be able to agree to terms with Atlético San Luis.
Furthermore, if Real Salt Lake cannot get a deal done, New England Revolution and D.C. United is also interested in Julio. Both New England and D.C. United is waiting patiently for the situation between Real Salt Lake and Atlético San Luis to be resolved before either party officially requests interest.
Julio was recently on loan with Real Salt Lake in 2021 where he performed admirably scoring 8 goals in 30 appearances. Julio’s impact was felt immediately when he scored a brace on his debut against Minnesota United in the opening game of the 2021 season. Then, as the season progressed Julio dipped in form and struggled to find the pitch but when Pablo Mastroeni took over as the interim manager midway through the year he utilized Julio off the bench where he was able to change the dynamic of games with his speed.
