Real Salt Lake Likely To Be Without Kreilach, Herrera & Ochoa Ahead Of Nashville Clash

SALT LAKE CITY – Real Salt Lake is three weeks into the 2022 season and has played the majority of games without some of its key contributors from a year ago. It seems as though the trend will likely continue for at least another week.
Pablo Mastroeni was asked about the three key figures and their statuses ahead of this week’s fixture against Nashville –
“Ochoa is making progress. He has not trained with the team yet but he is making progress and is doing a lot of his stuff [rehab] on the field which is positive,” Mastroeni said during a press conference. “Herrera is a tricky one, there have been moments where you think he is going to be ready for the weekend and then he feels a little tightness here and there so you have to dial it back to a level where he is comfortable. He has been in and out [of training]. Then Dami [Kreilach] has been making progress with his calf, it is something that he has been dealing with since preseason. He has not trained with the group in quite a long time so for us, it is important to see progress and I think we are seeing that but optimistic that next week he will be able to turn the corner and maybe join us.
Sounds likely that’s #RSL will be without Kreilach, Herrera and Ochoa again for the clash against Nashville this week.
Based on the comments by Mastroeni it sounds like Herrera and Kreilach are close but Ochoa is still a few weeks away at least. pic.twitter.com/D1DmE09uBK

Prior to last week’s 3-2 victory over, Rubio Rubin was also listed as questionable but did not travel with the team suggesting that his availability this upcoming week will likely remain the same. If he does clear fitness protocols, due to his lack of playing time this season his role with understandably be minimal.
Despite the lack of options for Mastroeni, Real Salt Lake has managed to remain undefeated throughout the opening three weeks of the season. They are tied atop the Western Conference with LAFC on points.
