Clarkson Sets Career-High, Jazz Survive Kings

SALT LAKE CITY – Jordan Clarkson scored a career-high 45 points as the Utah Jazz downed the Sacramento Kings 134-125.
The Jazz were without Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley while the Kings were battling without Domantas Sabonis, but it was the Jazz who emerged with the win.
De’Aaron Fox added 41 points and 10 assists for the Kings in the losing effort.
First Quarter
Both the Jazz and Kings got off to a hot shooting start with De’Aaron Fox and Jordan Clarkson carrying the loads for their teams.
With the Jazz going under on screens, Fox scored 20 first quarter points on 7-10 shooting including 4-5 from the three-point line.

The Jazz needed a scoring boost off the bench and Clarkson came in and hit four threes of his own en route to 14 first quarter points.
After one, the Jazz trailed the Kings 42-37.
Second Quarter
Clarkson’s hot shooting continued into the second quarter as the guard exploded for another 10 points, including two more threes giving him six at the half.
Fox scored just two points in the quarter, but the Kings as a whole shot 51 percent from the floor and 45 percent from the three-point line in the first half.

The Jazz closed the second quarter on a 15-4 run to take a late lead into the locker room.
At the half, the Jazz led the ings 71-67.
Third Quarter
The Jazz opened the second half well and extended their lead to double-digits mid-way through the period.
Clarkson extended his scoring total to 30 points after three quarters while Donovan Mitchell had 23 after 36 minutes.

The Kings offense finally slowed down as they managed just 21 points in the quarter.
After three, the Jazz led the Kings 100-88.
Fourth Quarter
Clarkson finished with a new career-high of 45 points, but it was Bojan Bogdanovic who stepped up to help the Jazz close out the Kings.
After missing Friday’s game with a leg bruise, the sharpshooter returned to form with 29 points, nine of which came in the final period to ice the game.
Fox finished wth 41 points and 10 assists in the Kings loss.
The Jazz beat Sacramento 134-125.
