Weber State Falls To Montana State In Big Sky Tourney Semifinal

SALT LAKE CITY – The Weber State men’s basketball team saw its pursuit of a Big Sky Conference Tournament championship fall short in a close semifinal loss to the Montana State Bobcats.
The Wildcats and Bobcats faced off in the semifinal round of the Big Sky tourney at the Idaho Central Arena in Boise, Idaho on Friday, March 11.
Weber State lost to Montana State, 69-66.

The Wildcats were unable to hang on after controlling the opening 20 minutes of the contest. After the first half, Weber State went to the locker room with a six-point lead, 37-31.
Late in the second half, the Bobcats climbed back in front on the scoreboard.
Over the final minutes of action, the teams traded shots and the lead.

With the game tied at 64 with 1:41 left to play, Montana State’s Great Osobor buried a jump shot to give the Bobcats the lead for good.
Weber State was outscored in the second half, 38-29.
The Wildcats finished the game shooting 42.6 percent overall and 35.3 percent from beyond the arc. Dillon Jones led Weber State with 18 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Weber State wrapped up its schedule with a 21-12 record, including 13-7 in the Big Sky.
