SALT LAKE CITY – The Pittsburgh Steelers plan to re-sign former Southern Utah Thunderbirds safety Miles Killebrew, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The football insider broke the news on Friday, March 11.
NFL free agency officially begins on March 16.
Killebrew will reportedly stay with the Steelers on a two-year deal worth $4 million.
“A core special teamer and safety, some depth for PIT as it keeps its own guy,” Rapoport tweeted about Killebrew’s new contract.

Last season was Killebrew’s sixth in the NFL and first with Pittsburgh.
The former T-Bird joined the Steelers during the 2021 offseason after spending the first five seasons of his professional career with the Detroit Lions, the franchise that selected him during the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
During the 2021 regular season, Killebrew recorded 13 total tackles and nine solo tackles. Killebrew also blocked a punt during the regular season. He added three total tackles and one solo tackle in Pittsburgh’s lone playoff game.
