Jazz Honor Joe Ingles With Tribute Video During Blazers Game

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz honored former Jazzman Joe Ingles with a tribute video during a game against the forward’s new team, the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Jazz hosted the Blazers at Vivint Arena on Wednesday, March 9.
After the first timeout of the game in the first quarter, the franchise honored Ingles with a video of highlights and moments from his time in Utah.
Too bad Joe Ingles wasn’t actually Courtside for this. Had he been shown on the monitors this place would have erupted! #TakeNote #JazzLoveJoe @kslsports pic.twitter.com/6k8Es80dm9

The Jazz traded Ingles to the Trail Blazers shortly before this season’s trade deadline in February. The trade came after Ingles’ suffered a season-ending knee injury.
Before getting traded to Portland, Ingles played the first seven and a half seasons of his NBA career with the Jazz.
Ingles was first acquired by Utah after the Los Angeles Clippers waived the forward before the start of the 2014-15 season.
The Australian native rose from a waiver pickup to a rotation player before becoming a starter for Utah. During the past few seasons, Ingles had been a key bench player for the Jazz and was the runner-up to former teammate Jordan Clarkson for the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award in 2020-21.
Before suffering the knee injury, Ingles was averaging 7.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per contest in 45 games played for the Jazz.
During his time in Utah, Ingles recorded an average of 8.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 0.2 blocks, and 0.9 steals per game. He played in 590 games for the Jazz, including 313 starts.
Trail Blazers vs. Jazz
The Trail Blazers made the difficult decision to begin a retooling around All-Star guard Damian Lillard at the trade deadline, and have been one of the worst teams in the NBA since the All-Star break.
The @utahjazz will kick off a stretch of three winnable games tonight when they host the dreadful @trailblazers. #TakeNote https://t.co/nSNDJfmpGF

Portland traded Robert Covington and Normal Powell to the Los Angeles Clippers and sent CJ McCollum to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for more roster flexibility this summer.
Over their last five games, the Trail Blazers have gone winless, and have been outscored by an average of 31.2 points per game.
The Jazz are 2-0 this season against Portland with an average win margin of 18.5 points.
