WAC Tournament Bracket, Schedule Released For 2022 Season

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – The WAC Tournament is set for the 2022 field. This year’s WAC Tournament, an annual occurrence dating back to 1984, will occur at two different venues.
First, beginning with the opening round on Tuesday, March 8, games will be played at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at the Mandalay Bay. Then, the remainder of the games starting March 9 thru March 12 will be at the Orleans Arena, which has played host to the WAC Tournament since 2011.
Ten of the thirteen league members are in this year’s WAC Tournament. Dixie State, Lamar, and Tarleton State are the three programs not included. Dixie State and Tarleton State are not eligible for postseason play until the 2024-25 academic year due to their transition to NCAA Division I.
The No. 1 seed in this year’s field is a familiar face, the New Mexico State Aggies. New Mexico State has appeared in nine consecutive WAC Tournament championship games and has won seven. NM State has won nine WAC tourney titles dating back to 2007.
Utah Valley finished with a 19-11 record and 10-8 mark in WAC play in the third year under head coach Mark Madsen. The Wolverines are the 7-seed in this year’s WAC Tournament and will face 10-seed Chicago State in an opening-round matchup.
