Mitchell Completes Four-Point Play After Impressive Shot Against Suns

SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell completed a four-point play following a tough three-point shot during the opening minutes of Utah’s game against the Phoenix Suns.
The Suns hosted the Jazz at Footprint Center on Sunday, February 27.
With 4:25 remaining in the first quarter, Mitchell used a screen to create a look at the basket before letting loose on a shot from beyond the arc. As Mitchell released his shot, he was fouled by Suns All-Star guard Devin Booker.
Despite the foul, Mitchell’s attempt when through the hoop for three points.
The fifth-year guard completed the four-point play by sinking a shot at the charity stripe.

Mitchell’s free throw cut Phoenix’s lead to 26-20.
The triple was one of three makes from distance by Mitchell during the opening 12 minutes of game time.
Donovan Mitchell has been in playoff mode since he came back from his concussion.
He's shooting 45% on 10 three-point attempts per game over his last seven games.

Mitchell finished the quarter with a team-high 11 points on 3-6 field goals. All three makes were from deep. He also went 2-3 from the foul line. Mitchell added one rebound and a steal during his first 10 minutes on the court.

This season, Mitchell is averaging 25.9 points per game on 45.9 percent shooting, including 35.7 percent from downtown. Mitchell ranks eighth in scoring in the NBA. He also averages 4.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 0.3 blocks, and 1.6 steals per game.
