Dixie State Defense Struggles In Second Half, Trailblazers Lose At Home

SALT LAKE CITY – Darrion Trammell scored 16 as Seattle University halted a two game losing streak in a 73- 65 win over the Trailblazers.
Dixie State (6-10, 13-16) hosted Redhawks (13-4, 22-8) at Burns Arena in St. George, UT on Saturday, February 26.
Seattle opened the game as cold as the February temperatures were outside of Burns Arena. Shooting 18 percent from the perimeter and 25.8 percent overall, the Redhawks failed to generate any momentum in the first 20 minutes.

Cam Gooden led the Trailblazers to an early lead, scoring eight first half points including two three-point bombs.
Seattle would go scoreless in the final two minutes of the half, allowing Dixie State to close on a 6-0 run and take a 29-28 lead into the break.
The Redhawks opened the second half with 10-1 surge, opening up their biggest lead of the game 38-30

Gooden’s 15 points led the Trailblazers. Hunter Schofield and Isaiah Pope had 14 each.
The Trailblazers will finish their 2021-22 regular season with a final road trip. Abilene Christian will host Dixie State on Thursday, March 3. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. (MDT).
