Early in the second half, three Koby McEwen free throws brought the Wildcats within one at 38-37, but Portland State followed that up with a Khalid Thomas three following an offensive rebound.
From there, it was Michael Carter III and Thomas who combined to score 20 second half points to keep the Vikings in front.
A nearly four minute long scoring drought from the Vikings opened the door for a late Wildcat comeback.
Weber State managed an 8-0 run, closing the gap to 77-75 with 56 seconds remaining.
