John Stockton Among NBA’s 75 Greatest Players Honored At All-Star Game

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Jazz great John Stockton sat amongst the NBA’s 75 greatest players of all time that were honored during the league’s All-Star weekend.
The NBA recognized the 75 best players in league history prior to the All-Star Game on Sunday, February 20.
Stockton was one of the NBA legends that flew to Cleveland, Ohio for the All-Star festivities. Before the main event, Stockton was photographed with a group of fellow all-time great basketball players.

In addition to a group photo for the group of 75, Stockton and a collection of point guards were grouped together for a moment.
The guards included Stockton, former Weber State standout Damian Lillard, Isiah Thomas, Chris Paul, Jason Kidd, Gary Payton, Magic Johnson, and Oscar Robertson.

Fellow Jazz legends “Pistol” Pete Maravich and Karl Malone were also recognized as two of the top 75 players in NBA history.
Maravich passed away in 1988. Malone was not in attendance.

Jazz part-owner and former Miami Heat great Dwyane Wade joined Stockton as one of the 75 players that was present for the All-Star event.

Current Jazzmen Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert were selected as All-Stars for the third straight season and were slated to play against each other in Cleveland.
Hours before tip-off, Mitchell announced that he wouldn’t play in the game due to a non-COVID illness. Gobert will play as a member of Team Durant.

The All-Star Game is scheduled to tip-off at 6 p.m. (MDT) on TNT.
