Weber State Snaps Losing Streak With Big Win Over Sacramento State

OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State Wildcats snapped a three-game losing streak by taking down Sacramento State 65-50 on Thursday night at the Dee Events Center.
Four Weber State players scored in double figures and nearly a fifth player in their big win over Sacramento State. J.J. Overton led the way with 16 points and five rebounds on an efficient 7-of-9 shooting from the field. Dillon Jones recorded another double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Koby McEwen also had a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards.
Dontay Bassett chipped in 11 points in 31 minutes, while Seikou Sisoho Jawara added nine points and four assists. It was a close game in the first half with the Hornets outscoring the Wildcats 35-34 but the second half was a tremendous defensive effort by Weber State, scoring 31 points and holding Sacramento State to just 15 points.

Sacramento State shot 40% from the field in the first half but just 26% in the second half on 6-of-23 shooting, including 1-of-9 from beyond the arc.
William Fitzpatrick led the Hornets with 17 points, including 4-of-11 from downtown. Bryce Fowler added 15 points.
Weber State dominated the rebounding battle 34-22. Although, the Wildcats won the game, they turned the ball over 18 times and Sacramento State had just 12.
Weber State improved their record to 19-8 overall and 12-4 in Big Sky play. They will host Northern Colorado on Saturday, February 19 at 6 p.m. MT on ESPN+.
