Jackson Gets Gold In 500 Meter Long Track, First For US In 28 Years

SALT LAKE CITY – U.S. skater & Utahn Erin Jackson’s 37.04 was enough to break the country’s 28 year gold medal drought in the women’s long track 500 meter speed skating.
The women’s long track 500 meter speed skating event took place at the National Speed Skating Oval on February 13, 2022.

Jackson came into her heat needing to best the 37.12 posted in an earlier heat by Japan’s Miho Takagi. Her second best 10.33 in the opening 100 meters, put her in position to skate stress free to the gold.
Angelina Golikova of the Russian Olympic Committee won bronze.
The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics
