Westminster Alum Cochran-Siegle Wins Silver In Men’s Alpine Skiing Super-G

SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster College alum Ryan Cochran-Siegle captured the silver medal in the Men’s Alpine Skiing Super-G at the Winter Olympics.
Fellow Westminster alum Bryce Bennett and Cochran-Siegle took part in the Men’s Alpine Skiing Super-G at Yanqing Alpine Skiing Centre on Monday, February 7.

Cochran-Siegle was the 14th skier to take the course. Bennett went 22nd.
After Cochran-Siegle’s run, he was in second place and 0.04 seconds behind the leader, Matthias Mayer of Austria.
Bennett’s run wasn’t as quick as his teammate’s. He sat in 14th after his run.
Cochran-Siegle ended in second place and won Silver. Bennett ended in 17th place overall.

The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics
Just a year after Japan’s summer Olympics, the Games are back for a winter show in Beijing, China. The unusually short gap between Games is due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Strict precautions and enforced virus prevention protocol are in place to help keep athletes, coaches and personnel safe.
Beijing is the capital of China, with a population of more than 20 million people and the first city to host both a Summer and Winter Olympic games. It is one of the largest cities in the world and 15 hours ahead of Mountain Time. There are 13 different venues in and around Beijing that will be used for the Winter Olympics.
