PROVO, Utah – Former BYU great quarterback Zach Wilson and former teammate Dax Milne were back on campus Saturday.
The two NFL players that just completed their rookie seasons were sitting at center court to watch BYU basketball take on No. 2 Gonzaga. But, before the end of the first half, BYU recognized the two gridiron greats on the big screens at the Marriott Center.

Both have been friends since they were kids. Now they are continuing their friendship during their NFL careers. Both players returned to Utah after their first NFL seasons were over. Last month, they went to Top Golf in Midvale to catch up with some of their friends still playing on the BYU football team.
Zach Wilson completed his rookie season with the Jets
In 13 starts this season with the New York Jets, Wilson, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, passed for 2,334 yards and had nine touchdown passes to 11 interceptions. Wilson was 3-10 as the starter in his first season, guiding a Jets team building from the ground up with young personnel and young coaching staff.

Since departing from BYU, Wilson has continued to support his alma mater. Earlier this week, on National Signing Day, Wilson tweeted, “Great day to become a cougar.” Wilson’s younger brother, Micah Wilson, signed with BYU as a linebacker prospect out of Corner Canyon High School in Draper.
