Big First Half Helps Southern Utah Cruise Past Idaho

SALT LAKE CITY – The Southern Utah men’s basketball team used a big first half performance to cruise to victory over the Idaho Vandals.
The Thunderbirds hosted the Vandals on Thursday, February 3.

Southern Utah wore its retro “College of Southern Utah” jersey for the game.
The T-Birds broke open the contest during the first 20 minutes of game time and rode a double-digit lead to victory over the closing minutes of action.
Southern Utah stormed to a 14-point halftime lead, 42-28.
Over the closing half, the Thunderbirds outscored the Vandals by a basket to maintain their margin and capture the win.

The T-Birds ended the game shooting 45.3 percent from the field, including 28.6 percent from three-point range.
Five Thunderbirds reached double figures in scoring. Tevian Jones led SUU with 22 points on 9-17 field goals. He added nine rebounds and one assist in the win.

With the victory, the Thunderbirds improved to a 14-6 record this season, including 8-2 in Big Sky Conference games.
