SALT LAKE CITY – Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green revived a three-year-old jab towards Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert after the frontcourt players were named NBA All-Stars for the 2021-22 season.

Green poked fun at Gobert during the reveal of the 2022 NBA All-Star reserves on Thursday, February 3.

Both Gobert and Green were named NBA All-Stars during TNT’s NBA Tip-Off. The Warriors’ forward recently joined TNT as an analyst on a multi-year deal.

Gobert was selected as an All-Star for the third consecutive season.

In 2019, the Jazzman posted a resume fitting of an All-Star. However, he was not selected for that season’s NBA All-Star Game. After his snub, Gobert spoke to the media and broke down in tears while discussing a conversation with his mother’s reaction.

Gobert’s emotional response to the media went viral on social media and received feedback from multiple NBA players, including Green.

“I guess I should cry too,” Green tweeted sarcastically about Gobert.

This year, Green decided to jab his fellow All-Star once again.

“Who have you seen taking this the hardest when they have not made it?” Kenny Smith asked the Warriors star.

“One thing I can assure you, if I didn’t make it this year I wasn’t gonna cry. 100 percent assure you that,” Green said. “It has to be Rudy. The man cried on national television when he didn’t make the All-Star team. Thank god he’s made the next three.”

“Leave that man alone,” Charles Barkley told Green.

“You can’t cry, Chuck,” Green laughed and replied. “I said it then. Imma say it now. I got killed on Twitter then. I’ll probably get killed today but you can’t cry. Come on man.”

Ironically, Green spoke about being “nearly in tears” following his first All-Star selection.

Despite Green’s comments, Gobert is a three-time NBA All-Star and three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

In addition to being a three-time NBA champion, Green is a four-time All-Star and one-time Defensive Player of Year.

This season, Gobert is averaging 16.0 points per game on 70.7 percent shooting. He leads the NBA in rebounding with 15.1 boards per contest. Gobert adds 1.2 assists, 2.3 blocks, and 0.8 steals.

Green is averaging 7.9 rebounds, 7.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game.

The 2022 NBA All-Star Game will take place on Sunday, February 20 in Cleveland, Ohio.
