SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Valley men’s basketball team blew out Chicago State during the first 20 minutes of action on the way to a double-digit win over the Cougars.

The Cougars hosted the Wolverines on Thursday, January 27.

UVU beat Chicago State, 101-87.

The Wolverines jumped out to a double-digit lead midway through the first half and pushed the margin to 15 points at the halftime break with a 52-37 advantage.

Chicago State battled back in the second half and outscore UVU by one point over the final 20 minutes of action but the early deficit was too much for the Cougars to overcome.

Six Wolverines reached double figures in scoring in the 14-point victory.

UVU finished the game shooting a blazing 69.1 percent overall and 72.7 percent from beyond the arc.

Connor Harding led Utah Valley with 18 points, three rebounds, and one assist.

With the win, the Wolverines improved to a 14-6 record this season, including 5-3 in Western Athletic Conference contests.

Utah Valley’s next game is on the road against Stephen F. Austin on Thursday, February 3 at 5:30 p.m. (MDT) on ESPN+.
