Ephraim Asiata Sends First Tweet Since West Valley Shooting

SALT LAKE CITY – Hunter High School standout football player Ephraim Asiata posted for the first time on social media since the shooting near his high school.
Ephraim Asiata was shot near Hunter High School on January 13, along with two of his teammates, who were killed in the shooting. Asiata was given a 1% chance of survival when he defied the odds and is on the road to recovery.
On Thursday morning, Asiata sent out his first tweet since the shooting.
“Thank you heavenly father!” Asiata wrote. “Thank you for the prayers! I love you brothers #Tivani & #Paula RIL. Road to recovery bout to get it…Lesss ride.”

On January 24, Asiata was shown in a video that was posted on social media by his sister of Ephraim working out in his hospital bed. His father, Matt, who is a former Utah Utes and NFL running back, was seen on the floor by his son’s bed doing pushups.
