Utah State Snaps Four-Game Losing Streak With Big Win Over San Diego State

LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State men’s basketball team snapped their four-game losing streak with a 75-57 win over San Diego State on Wednesday night.
Utah State was holding a comfortable lead late in the first half before San Diego State ended on a 7-0 run but the Aggies had a 32-21 lead heading into the halftime break. They were clicking on both sides of the ball in the second half by outscoring the Aztecs 43-26.
Steven Ashworth led the Aggies with 17 points and five assists as he got the start in place of Rylan Jones, who was in concussion protocol. Justin Bean recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Brandon Horvath chipped in 12 points and five boards. Sean Bairstow added 10 points.

The Aggies shot 49% from the field. They hit 10 three-pointers, shooting 41% from deep and went 11-of-14 at the free throw line. USU dominated the glass, outrebounding the Aztecs 35-21.
SDSU was led by Matt Bradley with 19 points, six rebounds and five assists. Chad Baker-Mazara posted 15 points. The Aztecs made 49% of their field goal attempts and 33% from beyond the arc.
Utah State improved their record to 11-9 overall and 2-5 in Mountain West play. They will hit the road to face Nevada on Saturday, January 29 at 8 p.m. MT on CBS Sports Network and The Zone Sports Network.
