PROVO, Utah – BYU football is getting a jump on recruiting for the class of 2025. No, you’re not seeing that wrong. BYU offered a recruit for the 2025 recruiting cycle, which means this prospect is a current high school freshman.
Those scholarship offers are easier to extend when it’s a talent like Arron White, a.k.a. “Jett.”
After a great conversation with @jernarogilford i am blessed to say i have received an offer from @BYUfootball 🔵⚪️ #GoCougers @CoachWadu @FrampCamp @prowaytraining @HamiltonESPN @GregBiggins @BrandonHuffman @adamgorney @MohrRecruiting @alecsimpson5 @SWiltfong247 @ChadSimmons_ pic.twitter.com/aBNZ0wqIqm

White is a 6-foot-1, 165-pound cornerback/wide receiver committed to USC. He announced his offer to BYU on his social media feeds, “After a great conversation with @jernarogilford I am blessed to say I have received an offer from @BYUfootball.”
White completed his first year of high school football this past fall, recording 35 tackles and three interceptions.
Since committing to USC last September, White’s recruitment hasn’t slowed down. White has picked up offers from defending National Champion Georgia, Utah, Penn State, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and others.
In White’s tweet, he noted that BYU cornerbacks coach Jernaro Gilford extended the offer. Gilford, who is entering his seventh year as BYU’s cornerback coach, has strong ties to Southern California. Gilford grew up in Hawthorne, California, before taking his talents to Provo, to be a star cornerback at BYU from 1999 to 2003.
White isn’t the first recruit in the class of 2025 to receive an offer. BYU football has dished out four offers to 2025 prospects with one of those being a local prospect in Timpview’s Zedekiah Anahu-Ambrosio, who pulled in his offer last summer.
