Jazz Rookie Guard Getting Valuable Experience As Starters Sit

SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz rookie point guard Jared Butler has shown poise and confidence in his first NBA action in nearly three weeks.
The Suns hosted the Jazz at the Footprint Center in Phoenix and Monday, January 24.

Butler, who has spent much of his season in the G-League with the Salt Lake Stars, was pressed into action with six Jazz players out due to injury.
In 11 first half minutes against the the Suns, Butler scored eight points on 3-5 shooting and a perfect 2-2 from deep.

A national champion at Baylor, the rookie has averaged 2.6 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 20 NBA games.
In seven G-League games, Butler has shown promise by averaging 19.9 points, 6.1 assists and 1.6 steals while shooting 41 percent.
Utah’s game against Phoenix is broadcast on AT&T SportsNet, NBA TV, and The Zone Sports Network.
