Aimaq’s Double-Double Leads Utah Valley To Victory Over Lamar

SALT LAKE CITY – Fardaws Aimaq recorded a double-double to lead the Utah Valley men’s basketball team to a double-digit win over the Lamar Cardinals.

The Wolverines hosted the Cardinals on Saturday, January 22.

UVU beat Lamar, 58-41.

Aimaq led Utah Valley with 15 points, 14 rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.

UVU broke the game open during the first half of action. The Wolverines doubled the Cardinals’ scoring total from the first 20 minutes of game time.

Utah Valley used the double-digit halftime lead to coast in the second half. The Wolverines finished the afternoon shooting 35.9 percent from the field, including 31.3 percent from three-point range.

With the victory, the Wolverines picked up their second straight win and improved their record to 13-6 overall and 4-3 in Western Athletic Conference contests.

Utah Valley’s next game is on the road against Chicago State on Thursday, January 27 at 6 p.m. (MDT). The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
