SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell received the Western Conference Player of the Month award from his mother during an on-court present.

Nicole Mitchell presented her son the honor during a pregame presentation before Utah’s game against the Detroit Pistons.

The Jazz hosted the Pistons at Vivint Arena on Friday, January 21.

On January 4, Mitchell was recognized by the NBA as the Western Conference Player of the Month award for his play in December 2020.

The fifth-year guard averaged 30.2 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game and helped the Jazz to an impressive 12-2 record in December.

The honor was Mitchell’s first Player of the Month award. He previously won Rookie of the Month honors four different times during his first NBA season.

This season, Mitchell is averaging 25.5 points per game, 4.0 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per contest. He ranks ninth in scoring in the league.

Utah’s game against Detroit is broadcast on AT&T SportsNet, NBA League Pass, and The Zone Sports Network.
