USU Suffers Fourth Consecutive Loss, Falls To Boise State On Three In Final Seconds

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah State men’s basketball team suffered its fourth straight loss after the Boise State Broncos hit a game-winning three-pointer in the final seconds.
The Aggies hosted the Broncos on Thursday, January 20.
USU fell to Boise State, 62-59.

With 1:14 left to play, the Aggies owned a three-point lead following a pair of free throws by Steven Ashworth.
Boise State proceeded to go on a 6-0 run to close on the game, including a go-ahead triple by Marcus Shaver Jr. with only two seconds left on the game clock.
After USU owned a six-point lead at halftime, the Broncos outscored the Aggies by nine points over the final 20 minutes of action.

Utah State finished shooting 38.5 percent from the field, including 4-18 for 22.2 percent from downtown.
Justin Bean and RJ Eytle-Rock led USU with 14 points apiece.

With the loss, the Aggies fell to 10-6 overall and a 1-5 record in Mountain West Conference action.
Utah State’s next game is at home against the San Diego State Aztecs on Wednesday, January 26 at 8:30 p.m. (MDT). The game will be aired on The Zone Sports Network.
