49ers LB Fred Warner Confident Ahead Of Divisional Round Despite Injured Ankle

SALT LAKE CITY – Former BYU and current San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner said he’s feeling confident ahead of the Divisional Round of the NFL postseason despite an injured ankle.
Warner suffered a low ankle sprain during the Niners’ Wild Card win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, January 16.
The linebacker suffered the non-contact injury in the red zone before leaving the game with 8:40 remaining in the fourth quarter. San Francisco held on to beat Dallas, 23-17.

Warner finished the game with five total tackles and two solo tackles.
On Thursday, January 20, the 49ers didn’t list the former BYU star on the team’s injury report for the Divisional Round against the Green Bay Packers. By not placing Warner on the list, all signs point to the linebacker being good to go against the Packers at Lambeau Field.

“The fact that the MRI results came back great, it was good news for sure,” Warner said. “The way I’ve been feeling gives me a lot of confidence for Saturday.”
This season, Warner helped the 49ers to a 10-7 record and a playoff berth.
He finished the regular season with 137 total tackles, 79 solo tackles, 0.5 sacks, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, and four pass breakups.
San Francisco kicks off against Green Bay on Saturday, January 22 at 6:15 p.m. (MDT) on FOX.
